Just a quick update on the new hosting. The site has moved back to GoDaddy now running on a Deluxe 4GH shared Linux plan. The all new 4th generation hosting runs much faster than any of the old shared hosting plans. Looks good performance-wise even without any caching plugin.

WordPress and IIS work fine together as long as you don’t use pretty URLs. If you really want to use these human readable URLs you need to install a rewrite plugin for IIS (commercial mod rewrite modules or URL rewrite from Microsoft) or do a custom 404-redirect via PHP. You’ll find plenty of instructions on how to do this on the web. Eventually I’ll put some manuals online here when I find some time.
You may still encounter some problems with the Contact Form 7 plugin. The most common issue is the form being loaded and looking fine but on send gives you an error message like

WordPress usually shows your most recent/sticky posts on the front page aka home page. The page is displayed when opening the root of your blog or by clicking the home button.
Missing Front Page
After creating a new page in WP and deactivating it I totally lost the front page of the blog. A click on the home button redirected (HTTP 301) me to the newly created and now missing page. Putting the page into the trash resulted in a 404 and when restored from trash it redirected to that page. But it never showed the regular recent posts front page again. The attentive observer may have noticed a slight change in the layout during this weekend. Yes, you’re right, I changed the theme of my WordPress. The new layout of io101 has been refreshed and also optimized for iPhone and iPod users. The last theme was the closest match to what I wanted, but it I never had the time for all the adjustments I once planned. So this is a new attempt, this time based on the iBlog 3.0 theme and the iWPhone plugin and theme. Both are free and can be found on wordpress.org.
