Have you been notified about the new App Store for Mac apps? Yes, it finally has come online but requires you to update to OS X v10.6.6.
If you’re still running on the 10.5.6 beta (e.g. 10h542 delta) update from the Apple Dev Center then you won’t see the latest update to 10.6.6. You can manually check Software Update from the menu bar but still will be missing this update as the reversioned OS X beta does not qualify for it.
Macs Can Video Call Over 19 Million iPhone 4 & iPod touch Users
[singlepic id=163 w=320 h=240 float=right] CUPERTINO, California—October 20, 2010—Apple® today announced the public beta of FaceTime® for Mac®, an entirely new application that allows Mac users to video call iPhone® 4 and iPod touch®* users as well as other Macs. Featuring an easy to use interface, FaceTime for Mac automatically uses your Address Book contacts so there’s no need to create special buddy lists, and it works seamlessly with the built-in camera and mic on Mac notebooks, iMac® and Apple LED Cinema Displays. If you really want to use these human readable URLs you need to install a rewrite plugin for IIS (commercial mod rewrite modules or URL rewrite from Microsoft) or do a custom 404-redirect via PHP. You’ll find plenty of instructions on how to do this on the web. Eventually I’ll put some manuals online here when I find some time.
You may still encounter some problems with the Contact Form 7 plugin. The most common issue is the form being loaded and looking fine but on send gives you an error message like

Just updated my iPhone 3G to iOS 4.1 beta 2. The beta 1 already did a good job in improving the UI responsiveness over iOS 4.0 but beta 2 acts like a turbo! No more delays and snappy interface – almost feels like an iPhone 3GS. In my previous post I mentioned the clogged iPhone 3G after unlock. Now this issue has been completely remedied. Even apps seem to start faster. Wow! Continue reading “iOS 4.1 beta 2 released – much improved performance” »
Apple just released the GM (Golden Master) candidate for developers. I downloaded and tested the new iOS 4 yesterday on my iPhone 3G 16GB. I skipped the betas as it’s currently my only phone and some of the betas were reported to render the iPhone pretty unstable.
This final release of the new iPhone OS 4 (now called iOS 4 as its range of target devices has been extended to iPhone, iPod and iPad) works fine and stable on my old iPhone 3G. I still can’t record videos and have to pass the multitasking feature due to lack of CPU power.

Have tried the iPhone OS 3.0 Beta 5 for a couple of days now and am not too impressed. Tethering, Copy/Paste and A2DP were the main features I wanted to use early. Copy and Paste work. Continue reading “Review: iPhone OS 3.0 Beta 5 firmware – ups and downs” »
Hurry up, only a few hours left to get this awesome bundle of 14 apps for your Mac on MacHeist 3!
This time MacHeist 3 offers you a great bundle of apps and 25% of the sales go to charity. They already raised over $600,000 and still a few hours to go. The initial 12 apps has been topped up with 2 bonus apps Cro-Mag Rally and Times which gives you 14 apps total. And that number doesn’t even include the free EventBox and many other apps that were given away for free on Twitter. Check your loot on MacHeist.
I already bought 2 bundles. 1 for me and another as a gift. I’m not affiliated with MacHeist in any type nor do I get any money for it. It’s just a great deal and a win-win for everybody.
Don’t miss it, go right to MacHeist and order your bundle now before it’s too late!
This offer will probably end at 00:00 ET on Apr 7th 2009.

I just installed Skpye on my iPhone 3G. It works fine, the interface is a bit sluggish and it tells me that my data plan prohibits Skype calls on EDGE/3G. I hope that it’ll support calls from wireless networks. Will try it later today.
