Some may encounter the strange message on startup of iTunes:

This copy of iTunes will expire in xxx hours. # of hours may vary.
There’s nothing to worry about, you just forgot that you’re currently running a beta version of iTunes. Probably downloaded from the Dev Center for (iOS) development or testing.

AirPrint is one of the new features introduced in iOS 4.2. It enables you to print wirelessly from your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad – with AirPrint enabled apps. Actually the app doesn’t have to be modified, the functionality comes from iOS 4.2.
With supported WiFi printers you can send a document directly to the AirPrint enabled printer or you can send it to a shared printer via iTunes on your Mac or PC.
Requirements:
- iOS 4.2 (GM)
- OS X 10.6.5 (build 10H542)
- iTunes 10.1 (beta) or supported WiFi printer
I’m getting annoyed with all those problems I encounter since the upgrade to iOS 4 and iTunes 9.2. At first I was very pleased with the new look and features. But now after a couple of weeks more problems show up. They’re not fatal but all those small issues pile up to a Windows-like hurdling. I just want to use my Mac and iPhone to be productive! Every now and then a new error stops me and then I have to google around to find and try another fix. Meanwhile I try to keep my hope that Apple will release an update to iOS 4 and/or iTunes 9.2 soon.
So here is my latest iTunes/iPhone sync problem. Continue reading “Fix iTunes 9.2 and iPhone 3G iOS 4 sync problem” »
Apple just released the GM (Golden Master) candidate for developers. I downloaded and tested the new iOS 4 yesterday on my iPhone 3G 16GB. I skipped the betas as it’s currently my only phone and some of the betas were reported to render the iPhone pretty unstable.
This final release of the new iPhone OS 4 (now called iOS 4 as its range of target devices has been extended to iPhone, iPod and iPad) works fine and stable on my old iPhone 3G. I still can’t record videos and have to pass the multitasking feature due to lack of CPU power.

Not every provider has approved tethering with your iPhone. Some countries even have a netlock installed on their devices and Apple has locked up access to most parts of the iPhone OS for any user.
There are a few jailbreak solutions out there and I had an early try with QuickPWN which didn’t work out as expected. After that I didn’t even bother trying out yellowsn0w or any of the other colored snow cracks. Continue reading “iPhone 3.1.2 jailbreak: Net, SIM, Tethering lock – unlock it all” »
Have tried the iPhone OS 3.0 Beta 5 for a couple of days now and am not too impressed. Tethering, Copy/Paste and A2DP were the main features I wanted to use early. Copy and Paste work. Continue reading “Review: iPhone OS 3.0 Beta 5 firmware – ups and downs” »

Ever wondered how to link to an application from the Apple iTunes App Store? You probably could find a site with the link to the desired application on it and just copy the URL from the there. I prefer the easy and regular way by using the iTunes Music Store (iTMS) Link Maker on Apple’s website. It’s a straight forward web form that generates the correct HTML code for the link to any(?) item available in the iTunes Store. Read how to create a link to Apple iTunes App Store apps…
