Since last week my Piwik dashboard showed me a Google pagerank of 0 which I couldn’t believe. At first I thought the API was down but the problem remained for several days.

Coin Dozer is a highly addictive little game. It’s the iOS version of an old slot machine some may know from times BI (before internet). The game is pretty straightforward: there’s only a small tapable area at the top, tap and a coin drops down. That’s pretty much it.

There is a variety of seasonal versions (Cookie Dozer, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Asian New Year), all available as free (ad supported) or paid Pro version. I’ll stick to Coin Dozer – it has the shortest name and it’s free.

To avoid the ads which have slight negative impact on performance you can turn Airplane Mode on or just deactivate Wifi and Cellular Data if you don’t want to miss a call. Read how to get free coins for Coin Dozer…

Have you been notified about the new App Store for Mac apps? Yes, it finally has come online but requires you to update to OS X v10.6.6.

If you’re still running on the 10.5.6 beta (e.g. 10h542 delta) update from the Apple Dev Center then you won’t see the latest update to 10.6.6. You can manually check Software Update from the menu bar but still will be missing this update as the reversioned OS X beta does not qualify for it.

I’m getting annoyed with all those problems I encounter since the upgrade to iOS 4 and iTunes 9.2. At first I was very pleased with the new look and features. But now after a couple of weeks more problems show up. They’re not fatal but all those small issues pile up to a Windows-like hurdling. I just want to use my Mac and iPhone to be productive! Every now and then a new error stops me and then I have to google around to find and try another fix. Meanwhile I try to keep my hope that Apple will release an update to iOS 4 and/or iTunes 9.2 soon.

So here is my latest iTunes/iPhone sync problem. Continue reading “Fix iTunes 9.2 and iPhone 3G iOS 4 sync problem” »

WordPress usually shows your most recent/sticky posts on the front page aka home page. The page is displayed when opening the root of your blog or by clicking the home button.

Missing Front Page

After creating a new page in WP and deactivating it I totally lost the front page of the blog. A click on the home button redirected (HTTP 301) me to the newly created and now missing page. Putting the page into the trash resulted in a 404 and when restored from trash it redirected to that page. But it never showed the regular recent posts front page again. Ever wondered how to link to an application from the Apple iTunes App Store? You probably could find a site with the link to the desired application on it and just copy the URL from the there. I prefer the easy and regular way by using the iTunes Music Store (iTMS) Link Maker on Apple’s website.   It’s a straight forward web form that generates the correct HTML code for the link to any(?) item available in the iTunes Store.
