Digiarty offers 30.000 (30k!) coupons for a free license of WinX DVD Ripper Thanksgiving Edition. It’s the Platinum edition but lacks support – yes, we know the deal and surely can live with it.
VMware Fusion 4 now supports Mac OS X Lion 10.7 as guest system. Earlier versions only allowed server versions of Mac OS X to be installed as guest OS. Finally no more hacking around. Overall Performance improved noticeably and especially 3D performance made a huge step forward. Read more about new features in VMware Fusion 4 and OS X Lion support…
Coin Dozer is a highly addictive little game. It’s the iOS version of an old slot machine some may know from times BI (before internet). The game is pretty straightforward: there’s only a small tapable area at the top, tap and a coin drops down. That’s pretty much it.
There is a variety of seasonal versions (Cookie Dozer, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Asian New Year), all available as free (ad supported) or paid Pro version. I’ll stick to Coin Dozer – it has the shortest name and it’s free.
To avoid the ads which have slight negative impact on performance you can turn Airplane Mode on or just deactivate Wifi and Cellular Data if you don’t want to miss a call. Read how to get free coins for Coin Dozer…

Have you been notified about the new App Store for Mac apps? Yes, it finally has come online but requires you to update to OS X v10.6.6.
If you’re still running on the 10.5.6 beta (e.g. 10h542 delta) update from the Apple Dev Center then you won’t see the latest update to 10.6.6. You can manually check Software Update from the menu bar but still will be missing this update as the reversioned OS X beta does not qualify for it.
Macs Can Video Call Over 19 Million iPhone 4 & iPod touch Users
[singlepic id=163 w=320 h=240 float=right] CUPERTINO, California—October 20, 2010—Apple® today announced the public beta of FaceTime® for Mac®, an entirely new application that allows Mac users to video call iPhone® 4 and iPod touch®* users as well as other Macs. Featuring an easy to use interface, FaceTime for Mac automatically uses your Address Book contacts so there’s no need to create special buddy lists, and it works seamlessly with the built-in camera and mic on Mac notebooks, iMac® and Apple LED Cinema Displays. How cool is that! Parrot is close to release of the RC quadcopter that can be controlled from your iPhone. It’s like a RC helicopter, but much easier to fly. Actually it hovers on its own and you just have to direct in which direction it should move by tilting your iPhone. Looks pretty easy to me according to the product videos.
The really cool thing about this drone is the video feed from its 2 built in cams sending back a live video stream of front and below views. Currently it can only be pre-ordered in the UK and US for USD/GBP 299. Availability for Europe (299 €) and Asia will be announced soon. 299 in any currency? Haven’t they heard about exchange rates? At least they don’t charge for delivery.

Have tried the iPhone OS 3.0 Beta 5 for a couple of days now and am not too impressed. Tethering, Copy/Paste and A2DP were the main features I wanted to use early. Copy and Paste work. Continue reading “Review: iPhone OS 3.0 Beta 5 firmware – ups and downs” »
