Funny phrases from signs, menus, or buildings in Japan (and other countries) are being submitted to Engrish.com. According to the FAQ in Engrish.com (see link below) the definition of Engrish is ‘… the humorous English mistakes that appear in Japanese advertising and product design.’

Japanese people use English words on products just because it’s cool. They often don’t know or don’t care if it makes any sense. Think carefully before pointing your finger at them. How many Japanese or Chinese characters are printed on your clothes, bags, towels, wallet and other items around you? Ever wondered what their meaning is, if any?

Just see for yourself and ’Engrish brings you happy with joy’! This one just made my day though it’s from Vietnam:

This site has been one of my long time favorites since 2004. I think it was FriedChickenCamo who posted it on the old Neotokyo forum.
