Just saw the new iMac in the video ad on Apple’s home page. The highest spec machine will house a 2.66 GHz Intel Core i5 Quad Core CPU and all the memory and storage you’ll ever need in a 27-inch display. Wow, I definitely need this!
The 21.5-inch models and the 27-inch 3.06 GHz Core 2 Duo iMac are already available from $1200 to $1700. The Quad Core iMac starts shipping in November 2009.
Both new iMacs have LED-backlit IPS panels. The 21.5-inch features full HD resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and the 27-inch model tops that with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. Probably the best (looking) picture frame you can get for your brilliant digital images.
Another goodie Apple intrduces with the new iMac is the new Magic Mouse. The evolution of Apple’s Mighty Mouse looks very promising and will look even better on my desk soon. Also available now for $70 in the Apple Store.
